Frequently Asked Questions
Why in-home boarding vs kenneling?
1
Here at Elaine’s Pup Co., we really want your pup to feel at home here. We allow your dog to have adequate time outside to play, cuddling time, pltenty of time lounging around or on the couch! There will not be extra time in kenneling for no reason, but instead time out being loved on and cared for. I hope they sincerely feel at home here.
Have I niched down to small dogs?
2
I used to watch dogs of all size, and have found my love for all dogs, YES. But I really do love hanging out with the small dogs and they seem to blend really well into our family. Since June 2023, I decided to only watch dogs under 35 lbs. I’ve noticed that I mainly only watch dogs under 20 lbs typically though. I love the small pups and I’d love to care for yours!
Will I get updates while they’re in your care?
3
Absolutely! I send pictures/videos everyday for you to see your pup during their stay. Of course you can ask me anytime for any updates and I’ll be happy to send them your way!
Do you have a fenced in backyard?
4
Yes, we have a properly fenced in yard with plenty of rom to run around in. We spend a good amount of time outside with them playing, lounging and enjoying time together. Typically if they are outside, I’m out with them enjoying them!
Do you require only dog and kid friendly dogs?
5
I do require that all dogs be dog friendly and kid friendly. I have 2 little ones that have been raised with my business so they understand boundaries well. I’ve never had any issues but if you know your dog is aggressive, this ins’t the best space for them unfortunately.
Are you able to accommodate special requests?
6
Yes I am! I’ve helped dogs with diabetes shots, medications, different dietary issues, going up and downstairs, etc.
What is at the meet and greet?
7
This is a time for you to come to my home, bring your pup, and meet me. You can see how comfortable your pup is in my space and we can discuss your dog. I would want the same thing if it were reversed. Our pets are our world so I understand and welcome it.
Are the dogs in their crates often?
8
No, not at all! I only crate the pups at night when I go to sleep, to eat, for a quick meet and greet or I need to go on an errand. I really run my program with the perspective that pups are living life with me. I have yorkies of my own and I would not want them to stay crated so I do the same for the pups coming through my home. I try to accommodate their needs sos they are most comfortable. They are living life with us as we’re watching tv on the couch, playing in the backyard and eating dinner.
Are you flexible with schedules?
9
Yes I absolutely am! I do this full time from home so I have a very flexible schedule and am willing to work with you for drop-off and pickup times within good timeframes to best suit both of us.
I always ask that you bring their food, bowl and a comfort item. They do not spend a lot of time at all in their crates but when they do sleep, I love for you to bring their blanket or bed.
What should I bring with my dog during their stay?
10
What vaccinations do you require?
11
I may ask for vaccination records at any time. Please email them to me before your pups stay. I’ve never had any health issues come through my program or home and I strive to keep it this way. Please be available to share your dogs records to kassidy@elainespupco.com
What is the price to board my dog with you?
12
$40/night and then $30 add on for every dog in your family after that!
Daycare prices are schedule dependent (although I am typically available) and $25/day.
